TRANZIT is a limited football project developed between Frankfurt and Zagreb, built around Croatia, movement and the culture surrounding the game.
Created in the context of the 2026 World Cup, the project began with an alternative Croatia-inspired football jersey — not as an official national kit, but as a personal interpretation of the visual and cultural language attached to football.

The name TRANZIT reflects the position from which the project was developed: between cities, countries and different relationships to home. With Frankfurt and Zagreb as its two starting points, the jersey looks at Croatian identity through movement rather than a fixed geographical idea of place.
Produced as a limited edition of 100 pieces, the jersey combines familiar references to Croatian football with a deliberately darker, more restrained visual language. Custom typography, developed specifically for the project, sits alongside the Croatian checkerboard and crest references, while RELESENCE: TRANZIT, CROATIA and WC2026 locate the garment within a specific moment.

TRANZIT takes the recognisable language of a national football shirt and shifts it slightly away from the expected
Instead of the dominant red and white associated with Croatia, the jersey is built around black and grey checks, with red appearing as a concentrated detail. The result retains an immediate connection to Croatian football while allowing the garment to exist outside the conventions of an official kit.

The project draws equally from football shirts as objects of sport and as objects that continue to live beyond it — worn in cities, carried between countries, collected, exchanged and attached to personal memories.
In that sense, TRANZIT was designed less as merchandise for a single event and more as an object capable of travelling.

Following the initial campaign, the project continued to be documented through analogue photography, different wearers and places encountered along the way.

Rather than producing another conventional campaign, this next phase became more observational.
The jersey moves out of the controlled environment of its launch imagery and into everyday life, allowing the context around it to become part of the project itself.

What started as an object developed between Frankfurt and Zagreb therefore continues through movement, accumulating people, photographs and places rather than arriving at a fixed conclusion.

Balkan Visit
Balkan Visit is a small photographic series made while travelling through the region during the summer of 2026.

The images do not function as a campaign in the traditional sense. Instead, they document the environment surrounding TRANZIT: fragments of streets, journeys, football, food, religion, animals, cars, weather and ordinary encounters.

A football court sits beneath infrastructure. A dog watches traffic from an open car window. Votive candles accumulate, burn and collapse into wax. Meat and vegetables travel together in the back of a car. An old Fiat sits under the Adriatic sun. A church rises behind a stand advertising Lepinje. Elsewhere there is sea, industry, approaching rain and the vehicles that connect one place to another.

None of the scenes was constructed for TRANZIT. They are observations of a place through which the project is travelling.

And while football appears only occasionally and sometimes indirectly, its wider culture is present throughout: in public space, movement, local identity and the ordinary environments in which the game is watched, played and worn.
Balkan Visit expands TRANZIT from a football jersey into an ongoing visual record of where it comes from, and where it goes.

The extremely limited run of jerseys (incredible by the way) is available for a short time here.
