There’s a thrilling Primeira Liga showdown in Portugal in store as old foes Benfica and Sporting face off for what could be a title decider.
Both Lisbon giants sit level on points, meaning if Sporting wins, they are champions, while Benfica will grasp glory if they are victorious by two clear goals.
As Águias (The Eagles) of Benfica will be aiming to swoop for the silverware that Sporting claimed in 2023/24, while the Leões (Lions) of Sporting would love nothing more than winning back-to-back Championships and celebrating at Estádio da Luz.
The winner-takes-all scenario is not the last time Benfica and Sporting will meet, with a mouthwatering Portuguese Cup Final to play.
The Taça de Portugal final is scheduled to be played at the historic Estádio Nacional, famous for the Lisbon Lions' 1967 European Cup win for Celtic.
Whether it will be another green and white hooped club celebrating remains to be seen, but when discussing Portuguese football, Benfica and Sporting are never far away.
